New Beginnings

In January, we think of New Beginnings. God gave us the wonderful gift of choice, that we can choose every day, what will my world be today? A good way to begin every day, is to say (from Richard Mekdeci's song, Ready, Willing and Worthy):

"I'm ready, willing and worthy,
To open my heart and receive
All of the heavenly blessing
There for me when I believe…
I'm ready, willing and worthy."

Be ready, when you say this because new things will open to you, that you may never have thought was in your plan. God has so much more a broader view than we have in our own little world, and I am grateful that I was opened up to this broad vision.

Most of you know that I have opened my heart to starting a ministry in the York and Lancaster areas. As I looked at the map, I saw the only physical thing separating York and Lancaster is the Susquehanna River. And I immediately received the name of this ministry, Unity by the River. The ministry will be in Marietta, which is located by the river, in the historic Marietta Community House. This is the exciting part of the vision. The difficult part is leaving all of you. This has been my first Unity community, and I have been part of it for 15 years. You all have blessed me in so many ways. I thank you for allowing me to spread my wings and become the Spiritual Leader. Every day I learn something new about ministry and I will continue to grow, because I am "ready, willing and worthy".

Unity of Harrisburg is a powerful ministry and I know you will continue to bless each other by giving and supporting each other. Remember to include God in all your choices. That's when things happen beyond even our own great visions.

Roy and I and family will not be moving right away, we will be making a path back and forth from Carlisle to Marietta. We will miss seeing you on Sundays to give a hug. I am now giving you one big hug as my family who has guided and loved me. Know that I will always keep you in my heart wherever I go.

With a grateful heart,
Sharon Hillman, Spiritual Leader
