About Us
Welcome our New Minister
Rev. Linda Dominik
Dear Friends in Christ,
Humankind's experience of time is sequential, thus in the days, weeks, and months that lay before us we may experience a dance which seems to be two steps forward, and one step back. As we discover each other's gifts and foibles, we will see the rich fullness of God's diversity expressing as individuals who desire to be in community. In community we live out God's invitation to us found in Galatians 5:13, "By love serve one another."
How interesting that God calls us to serve not by power, or right, or strength, or even obligation, but by the very essence of its Divine Self, which is love. Many years ago the lyrics of a song said, "Love lift us up, where we belong". I actually misheard those lyrics and thought that it said, "Love LIFTS us up where we belong." Finally I realized that either one was right in spiritual terms. One was the longing and the plea of the heart of humanity to live at the level God intended for us, and the other was the statement of the truth that love does just that.
We seek our identity as a community in the Christ Consciousness, the perfect image of humankind expressing at the highest level, which has been modeled by our brother and way shower, Jesus the Christ. Remember WWJD bracelets? They asked us, "What would Jesus do" in any situation with which we were faced. The more important question is, "How would Jesus BE" in any situation?
Unity teaches that thought is causative: what we think is what we experience. Jesus knew this because of his intimate relationship to the Father/Mother God in which he lived and moved and had HIS being. We, too, live in that relationship to God, and the thoughts of Divine Mind are the thoughts, which we can think as we daily choose the Christ Consciousness. We ask ourselves daily, how will I be today? I will choose to be the essence of God manifesting-today I will be love.
The music of our souls has begun to call the tune to which we all shall dance, hand in hand, and heart to heart. Our hope and our confidence are strong, for we are mindful of God's promise in Romans 8:28, "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." Let us join together in the dance that leads us to the kairos time of God, the NOW moment of God's love.
Blessed to be in God's Service,
Reverend Linda Dominik
About Reverend Linda Dominik:
Reverend Linda Dominik has served Unity Ministries for 21 years in New York, Ohio, and Michigan, finding her greatest joy in teaching the Unity Principles which enable us to live consciously in God and in harmony with one another.
Reverend Dominik's spiritual journey has followed a diverse path, and she values the individual relationship each of us has with the God of our understanding. Every path to God, revealed in the human heart, is a worthy one and offers us food for our souls. A spiritual community is much more than a worship service once a week. It is the creation of an environment in which we can explore God within one another, with questions and challenges, discourse and digression, and also joy found in comradeship as we work and play together, serving one another by love.
Reverend Dominik desires to manifest a ministry which values each member, from the youngest to the oldest, as an integral part of the community, which not only blesses itself, but takes God's gifts to the larger world around it, and does so because it is its joy to do so. We grow in an ever expanding conscious awareness of the Christ within, and cherish our humanity for the avenue of expression it offers us, as we strive to be God made visible. The hand of God is our hand.
Reverend Dominik believes the minister is very much a part of the community, present, available, and accessible by all, respecting each person's authenticity, and being respected in return for her humanity and divinity. It is John Donne who said, "No man is an island…we are all part of the main." We create community together.
Reverend Dominik has two grown sons and a 4 year old granddaughter who lives in a village in Scotland. She has never met a dog or cat she didn't like, and who didn't like her. She loves to garden, even if it is only flower boxes, enjoys hiking, and has never found a food she didn't want to try cooking at least once. She loves music from Mozart and Mahler to Miles Davis, and should lock her purse in the trunk before she walks into a book store!

Are You Looking For . . .
- A place to help you gain a deeper understanding of your spiritual nature?
- A church that explores the metaphysical wonders behind all of God's creation?
- A non-denominational church that believes God is user-friendly?
- A church whose philosophy is one of life, love and happiness?
Unity Church is a culturally diverse spiritual community, dedicated to transforming lives by
making the teachings of Jesus Christ relevant to everyday life. At Unity the distance from here
to God is not far, because we believe God is within each one of us, and it is that aspect that we
honor and nurture.
Unity is a place where spirituality is more important than religion, where following your heart is
more meaningful than following creeds. Prayer, meditation, love and individual responsibility are
emphasized as the way to express spiritual maturity within each individual as well as within the
community.
Five Founding Unity Principles
- There is only one Presence and one Power, God. (Eph. 4:4, Deut. 6:4)
- God is present in all people as our divine essence, our Christ nature. (Col. 1:27)
- Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking & feeling. Everything in the manifest realm
has its beginning in thought. (Proverbs 23:7)
- Prayer heightens our awareness of our connection with God-Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom,
healing, prosperity, and everything good. (Psalms 46:10)
- Unity is a way of life. Ours is to walk the walk of the Christ teachings. (James 1:22)
